Huxley Bertram Razor Blade Assembly Machine

This machine assembles twin blade razor heads

Machine Process

The carcass is fed into the machine via an RNA vibratory sorter bowl

One blade is fitted via a stack feeder

A spacer is fitted next via a stack feeder

Then a second blade is fitted via a stack feeder

Finally a top protector piece is fitted fed by a second RNA vibratory sorter bowl

After the welding station is a quality control camera system (Hermann HMI and Keyence camera) and a reject station

When the stack up is complete it is ultrasonically welded together and then transferred into a clear plastic retainer along with 3 more

It is then transferred to a pick and place robot to place the completed assembly into a tray 

Two Omron robots are present, one to fill the square plastic retainer and the other to place it into a tray

The HMI and PLC, and servo controller are made by Beckhoff  

The inverter is made by Omron 

The pneumatics are premonitory SMC and Festo
